ALMA offers opportunities for high school and college students to receive scholarships that will support their career goals in the media industry.

 

Deadline to apply is November 15, 2019.

 

Scholarship awards range from $250-$1,500, and are intended to help students in their college experience.

ALMA Scholarship Application

The Hortencia Zavala Scholarship was established by Hugo Balta, president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. He created the scholarship in remembrance of his grandmother, who was an uplifting, supportive presence in his life. Students interested in applying may use the same form as the ALMA Scholarship Application.

Mentorships

Every fall or spring, ALMA hosts Mentor Match, to bring media professionals and college students together.

 

Students will have the opportunity to shadow a media professional on the job for a day to get hands-on experience and network with professionals in the media industry.
