ALMA'S Annual High School Workshop
Each year, ALMA welcomes dozens of high school students from across Arizona in a full-day workshop at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University's downtown campus. This signature event reiterates ALMA's commitment to supporting the next generation of journalists. Since the first workshop 27 years ago, more than two thousand high school students have attended, many of those students have continued their education at the Cronkite School and have gone on to careers in journalism, public relations and other media.
ALMA's Journalism Scholarships
The Arizona Latino Media Association offers several limited scholarships each year. The scholarships are for incoming and continuing journalism students attending an Arizona university or college. Awards range from $500 - $2,500 and each is awarded directly to students. The funds are not subject to restrictions imposed by state law. The scholarships are aimed at students seeking to become journalism and media professionals.
Update: The scholarship application has now closed.
